In the affected computer, do the following: 

• go to Start -> Run… -> type regedit, then hit Enter
• browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg
• Right click to GlobalPowerPolicy and PowerPolicies, then choose Permissions…, tick Full Control under Allow column for Power Users and Users

Note: no need to restart the PC to take effect, just log-off as administrator and try it using the users' login details. Add a comment

Go to client's PC who is experiencing this error, then do the following:

• Start -> Run… -> type regedit, then hit Enter
• Delete the LICENSE000 folder from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software]Microsoft\MSLicensing\Store\
• Restart the PC
• Try to connect again to the Terminal Server using RDP

Go to modem/router configuration page and enable ICMP or Respond to ping on Internet WAN Port

• using NetGear DG834g
  -> go to Advanced -> WAN Setup -> tick Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port
• using Netcomm NB9W
  -> go to Management -> Access Control -> Services -> tick on ICMP

In your server running Windows Server 2003, go to

Start -> Administrative Tools -> Routing & Remote Access -> right-click to your server's name, then choose Disable

That's it....

You usually receive this error in a computer (Windows XP) connected in a domain (Windows Server 2003), when adding a user from System Properties -> User Profiles -> Advanced -> User Accounts

REASON:

• The  IP address of the Domain Server is not configured in client's TCP/IP
• You have to rejoin the computer in the domain

You keep wondering why Windows XP upgrade to Service Pack 2 doesn't want to continue, here's how to fix it.

• Open the Command Prompt, type the following:
  cd /d %windir%\inf
  ren oem*.inf oem*.old
  ren oem*.pnf oem*.old1 Add a comment

• Remove .htaccess (this is a hidden file) from the parent folder
• Check the CHMOD to 755

When trying to click Help and Support from Start menu of Windows Xp, you keep receiving Can’t start the ‘Help and Support’ service error. To fix it download Helpsvcfix.zip and install it.

While trying to connect to your Terminal server, you are receiving a "The remote computer has ended the connection" error, to fix it:

1. Download and install devcon.exe from Microsoft. It’s a command line device manager tool.

2. Run devcon.exe which will extract it.

3. Open the Command Prompt

4. Navigate to the extracted devcon folder.

5. Type  devcon.exe -r install %windir%\inf\machine.inf root\rdpdr

6. Wait until it completes.

7. That’s it, try to connect remotely again.
